Zach Deshaies has been promoted to the position of Assistant Account Executive and Communication Specialist II. Zach started at Van Eperen as an intern in January 2016, while attending the University of Maryland, where he studied communications and specialized in public relations. He moved into the full-time position of Communication Specialist I and Multi-Media Specialist in June 2017.
In his new role, Zach will focus on traditional media and the digital side of PR. Along with many other responsibilities, Zach’s new role involves attending conferences or workshops specifically for photo and video editing and optimization. He says, “I’m excited to see what I can learn at these events and apply it to my work for our clients.” As you’ll see from our Q&A, Zach has a keen interest in the automotive industry and comes with some very cool life experiences.
Racing cars, 100%. I raced in the World Karting Association (WKA) for 10 years starting at age 7, winning divisional and national championships along the way and had the time of my life. When I was in grade school, I had a far more flexible schedule where I could leave school and make up work while traveling. It was my dream as a kid to be a professional race car driver and I cannot thank my dad enough for making that dream come as close to true as possible.
West Virginia. I had to pass through there to go to a race event and could not have been more annoyed at how long the distance between any sliver of civilization was. I don’t know how people can handle HAVING to drive 20-30 miles just to get to the nearest Walmart, Giant or gas station.
100% night owl. Waking up early is almost always a struggle, but staying out late to go to a concert or having fun with friends is almost always easy.
Speed like The Flash®. I like to get my tasks done in the smallest amount of time possible and cleaning my room/apartment/house would take a lot less time if I could do it all in less than a second, for example. And if I could skip all traffic because I was so fast, that would solve many problems!
Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I went there for my 21st birthday and had so much fun. The crystal clear waters, endless local activities, FOOD and more made it one of the best birthday weeks of all time.
Realistically one that I can buy? BMW E92 M3-Lime Rock. If money weren’t an issue? Pagani Huayra
British, because it’s my go-to when switching accents on the spot.
Welch’s Fruit Snacks – Discovered these in high school and never looked back because they’re not only delicious, but nutritious as well.
To be able to look back on my life/what I’ve accomplished and not be able to say, “I wish I had done *insert activity*.”
My favorite social media platform is Snapchat because when I look back on my memories I can always find something to laugh at and it’s the quickest way to go back and forth with friends.
Congratulations, Zach! We are excited to see your success in the new role.
