As kids, many of us often asked our parents “Why?” We wanted to know the reason behind why we had to do something. The answer we may have gotten some (or many) times was “Because I said so.” That response, although sometimes effective back then, does not work in the professional world.
When we propose conducting a messaging session, we often hear, “I already know what to say about our company. Why do we need key messages? Why are they important?”
As communicators, it’s our job to answer the “Why.” In keeping with the spirit of having just three key messages, here are our three reasons why they are important.
