Staying on top of social media trends is an integral part of success in today’s communications environment. That being said, not every social media channel is right for every client or announcement. There is not a one-size-fits-all platform. Wouldn’t it make our jobs so much easier if we could just post everything to Facebook and call it a day?
At Van Eperen, we never counsel our clients to jump on social media trends just because there’s buzz around a certain platform, unless it makes strategic sense. However, when our client AnthroTronix told us its CEO and Board Chair Dr. Cori Lathan was participating in a unique and interactive presentation on brain health at the World Economic Forum in Davos last month, it got our creative juices flowing and we knew immediately there was an opportunity to try something a bit different.
We knew it was the perfect opportunity for Dr. Lathan to broadcast her presentation using Periscope. After all, not everyone can be in Davos, yet some would like to learn about the impact digital tech has on how we think about brain health. Periscope would allow her to amplify her presentation’s reach in a new and exciting way.
We proposed our idea, she loved it, and she was immediately excited about the opportunity to try something new. We drafted a strategy for her and she was all over it. We love clients who are excited and willing to try new things!
In summary, Periscope was a great experience for AnthroTronix and Dr. Lathan and we couldn’t have been happier to introduce a new social media platform that will further our client’s important message on brain health. After all, as strategic counselors, that’s our job!
