There is no doubt, we are in uncharted waters with the Trump Administration. The signals received from the Administration thus far on science-based topics, indicate science is not a top priority in the short run. Hence, the reason for Saturday’s March for Science. The marches taking place around the globe intend to shine the light on the critical role science plays in so many things, including our environment.
The reality is, is that we are at a critical stage in humanity. Humans’ effect on Mother Earth and the atmosphere is showing itself in the most epic form of global warming. The data is indisputable, even for non-scientists like me, to see.
The great news is that the awesome effort and tireless work of many scientists who are affiliated with AGU, along with humanitarians like Leonardo DiCaprio, have helped provide the evidence and the platform to educate us that climate change is NOT a partisan issue.
So, I implore anyone who cares about saving Mother Earth and our environment, to stand firm on Saturday and every day in your support of the U.S.’s commitment to remaining a scientific global leader. We must continue with the critical work toward mitigating our impact on Mother Earth.
