Laura founded Van Eperen in 2004 to deliver on promises made to clients during the search process. Ethics, integrity, responsiveness, and results are what drive Laura and her agency.
Laura proudly manages a team of technology-savvy communicators who integrate innovative methods with proven principles.
Prior to launching Van Eperen, Laura served as a senior manager at communications firms in greater Washington, D.C. and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she gained extensive experience working with public and private sector clients and often brought them together to collaborate on projects.
Laura started her career as a broadcast journalist, covering hurricanes off Florida coasts and reporting from the halls of the State House in Tallahassee. Her stories appeared on CBS and NBC affiliates and CNN. She is a native Midwesterner, with a B.A. in communications and a minor in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
In the community, Laura serves on the Board of Directors with Make-a-Wish, Mid-Atlantic. She was voted onto the Executive Committee as Vice-Chairwoman of the Maryland Marketing Partnership (MMP), after serving on the Board of Directors for two years.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys traveling with her family, reading fiction and taming her two terriers.

Jeff is managing partner for Van Eperen and also heads our Baltimore office, providing strategic PR and social media counsel for Van Eperen clients.
He has more than 25 years of public relations experience after beginning his career as a reporter for daily newspapers in Ohio, New Jersey and at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis. As an early adopter, Jeff is a recognized expert in social media, advising clients on how to successfully integrate social media with traditional communications programs, and regularly speaks on social media trends.
Jeff also serves as Baltimore editor for the Capitol Communicator, and is co-founder of the Washington, D.C. podcast company Podcast Village. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Ohio Wesleyan University.
A member of the Stevenson University Business Communication advisory committee, Jeff is accredited in public relations; active in the Maryland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, serving as past president; and is a member of the National Press Club. In 2016 he won a Silver Anvil award from PRSA, the highest award in PR, for a program promoting the value of liberal arts education.
He has served as a volunteer for the Parks and People Foundation in Baltimore for nearly 24 years.
When he’s not working or posting Instagram stories, you can find Jeff riding bike trails in Maryland and Delaware, spending time in Rehoboth, grilling, and watching college lacrosse.

Van Eperen was founded in 2004 by former journalist Laura Van Eperen, who today manages it with managing partner and fellow former journalist, Jeffrey Davis.
